More often than not, longevity seems to be a form of punishment for not doing what one ought to have done.
After all why would an immortal being desire a longer stint in a
illusive, transient, imaginary reality where good and evil appear to
hold equal sway?
Well, for some of us it might be a blessing, for others a curse.
Everything depends on our point of view,
or more precisely, on our state of Consciousness. In fact, as we surely
know by now, of at least suspect, Consciousness is the only reality. All else if an
illusion. Just think...
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
So is contentment.
So is satisfaction.
So is happiness.
So is just about anything we can imagine.
The Omnipresent Creative Energy
that individualizes Itself in a human body, does not suffer from human
trait of impatience. Hence, if there is a slightest chance that a man or
a woman might fulfill the purpose for which he or she had been evolved,
that person may live for an unprecedented long period of time. Moses is
an example of this premise. In a society where the average longevity
spanned some 40 years, Moses left his body at 120, within sight of the
Promised Land.
Yet he was the first to enter the "Promised Land."
No. not the terrain. Not the land where his people settled.
    His Promised
Land symbolizes the magnificent state of consciousness that he
achieved. He didn't have to endure the discomfort of travel any longer.
He fulfilled his purpose to the letter.
He was one of the Few.
    For
others, this purpose may be a specific act, or anything that would
enhance the Phenomenal Reality, or even just to serve as an example to
edify others. The diversity is virtually endless.
    By
contrast, there are those Few among us, who, by design or coincidence can fulfill their creative designation in a short time.  The great
teachers, Yeshûa comes to mind, as well as composers such as Amadeus
Mozart, Modest Mussorgsky, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, and such as
poets, Emily Bronte, Percy Shelley, John Keats... and even great leaders
including Alexander the Great and Eva Peron. They didn't live long, yet their heritage is immortal.

    Hence,
the day on which you or I leave our bodies (people call it dying) is a
day for rejoicing. There is a good chance that, at long last, we must
have fulfilled our purpose. We enhanced the Universe!
And if not... well, that's another story.
I prefer the story below, it deals with... well, find out for yourselves.

 ENIGMA
 Of the Second Coming
The
world is in upheaval, tectonic plates are shifting, planets are
realigning. And then there is the Enigma that holds the key to the
higher affinity of the universe...
"A
 voyage from within and without,
this novel transports us to the
frontiers of an existence that knows no frontiers,
where physics and
metaphysics merge into a timeless, seamless whole. Enigma..."
(J. Garwood, Ph.D., author)
"A love story, visionary fiction, mysticism,
theology and a personal journey...."
