Immortality does not only mean that you'll never die, but, and this is much more difficult to understand that, in a way, you were never born. While your present Ego had been created in the Phenomenal Universe at a specific time, the Self which created you was, is, and always will be integral, inseparable, and indestructible element of the Eternal, Omnipresent, Indestructible, Energy of Creative Consciousness. The Power which people still call God.
We tend to confuse this immortal Self with our soul. Contrary to Self, soul did have a beginning, though not as a Higher Consciousness of our Self. Soul is no more than the sum-total of ALL experiences which includes countless reincarnations, from the moment that Self decided to individualize Itself in the Phenomenal Universe. Perhaps It began by attracting atoms to create the first cell of a living organism. And this minuscule fragment of order within the
Phenomenal Reality would grow, gradually, into a living organism. In time this cell would evolve into a species equipped with a brain that
would generate additional energy of creative thought, that would add to the diversity in the illusion of our reality.
Hence the ongoing, ever accelerating, expansion of the Phenomenal Universe.
While doing so, Self remained an inseparable component of the Omnipresent Creative Energy of Consciousness. In addition, from the moment we evolved self-awareness, the Self continues to offer us Its limitless creative potential while sustaining our life by coordinating the activities of our components parts, such as our countless atoms and subatomic particles. Also, It is the source of inspiration that would lead to the enhancement of the Phenomenal Universe.
Eventually, in the timeless eternity of becoming, our Ego will unite with our Self. Hence Immortality. Hence the biblical expression "I and my father are one." (John 20:30)
All the manifestations remain an illusion, yet every Self succeeds in converting some elements of the Eternal Chaos into a transient reality of order and harmony.
Why Eternal Chaos?
Because the Source of the Creative Energy incorporates the totality of all that was, is, will be or could be, within this Omnipresent Creative Consciousness at the same time. In fact, there is no time in the Potential Reality. All Creative Energy of Consciousness abides in the Eternal Now. Time is an imaginary construct of Phenomenal Reality.
I trust Baruch Spinoza and Albert Einstein would find my analysis acceptable. I am not defining that which religions recognize as God, but describing qualities which would satisfy the exigencies necessary to create and sustain an eternal process of converting the Omnipresent Creative Energy of Consciousness into a Phenomenal Reality of order and harmony, in which we enjoy our becoming.

How do I know all this?
I don't... but I drew these conclusions from the same source that Einstein claims to have drawn all his. After some 40 years of daily, or perhaps I should say nightly, contemplation I wake up with them. There is a fundamental difference between meditation and contemplation. In meditation one concentrates on a specific subject. In contemplation one makes no prerequisites. One empties one's mind as best one can, and listens.
I continue to listen each night, and sometimes I wake up with a few answers. Perhaps you do the same. We might compare notes sometimes. Or, you might care to read my books and write me a review. I also learn from them. I thank you, in advance.
