First we had philosophers, the lovers of wisdom. Then we had religions, converting philosophy into control of our minds by employing rewards and punishments. Then many ancient prophets and finally Yeshûa (later known as Jesus) did their best to dispel religious superstitions, yet, mostly, to no avail. Religions held fast regarding the Phenomenal world as real, followed by the illusions of Heaven and Hell.
Finally science took over, gradually freeing us from fear instilled in our minds by religions. Science proposed theories, and each theory brought us a little closer to the truth. And then, at long last, Albert Einstein opened our eyes:
ALL IS ENERGY
he'd said and, moments later, (time is also an illusion), seemingly without a bated breath, he announced, yes, unflinchingly:
"Energy cannot be created or destroyed;
it can only be changed from one form to another."
Henceforth the Phenomenal Universe become (though it always was?) immortal. But this time it became immortal in our minds. Without any beginning or end. It became eternal in the awareness generated by our brains. Reminds you of anything? Anyone? Religionists harboured the same desire by creating a God. Or at least a Spirit, which was (or is) the nature of God. Of which God was made? Like our Universe — of Energy?
It's a small world.
Well, actually it is omnipresent, eternal, and yet just an illusion?
Yes, this, too, Einstein had said; that the Phenomenal word is an illusion. Like God?
Not quite.
If God is Spirit, and Spirit equates with Energy, then God is not only Eternal, Perfect, and Omnipresent, but cannot be destroyed. There is another reason for it. According to Aristotle nothing can be created out of nothing. (1) Everything must have a substratum. It seems that God is the Omnipresent Substratum. The Eternal, Omnipresent, Indestructible POTENTIAL, which is gradually, over eternity of time, manifesting in our Phenomenal Universe.
Voilà!
Voilà!
A perfect marriage of science and religion, only without the carrot or the stick. Without Heaven or Hell. Only with Isaac Newton's Law of Cause and Effect, known to the ancient philosophers as Karma.
And instead of Heaven and Hell we are endowed with Paradise, which gradually, over eternity, manifests the Perfect Potential which, in fact is the only reality. What got kicked out of the Garden of Eden were not our bodies, but our states of consciousness. Our Egos. We now have eternity to rediscover the perfection we've lost in a moment of folly. The moment when we thought that our artificial intelligence, the product of the phenomenal evolution, is equal to the Potential that created it. Thanks to the ancient philosophers and the illustrious scientists we now know better.
We are gods.
We have the power of metamorphosis of energy. Of changing its rate of vibration. Of creating Phenomenal Reality. Most of us still call such abilities "miraculous". Now, during the Age of Aquarius, this ability will become more common. We have 2000 years to learn it. We can start by believing that we can.
We may be gods in waiting, but still, gods. In fact, there is nothing else. There is only energy. The Energy of Consciousness. Spirit, if you like, but it is still just the Energy of Consciousness. Potential and Phenomenal — the living God. And we, you and I, and all of us, are Its individualizations.
Aren't we lucky?
(1) Forget the Big Bang, I'll try to explain it tomorrow.
