THE MYSTERY OF MOTHERHOOD

All animals, fish, birds, crustaceans, and other non-hermaphroditic life forms, appear to exhibit maternal instinct. It seems to be encoded in the microscopic egg, which, when stimulated by an equally microscopic sperm, begins to flourish in most unexpected ways. From the fusion of these tiny cells emerges maternal love that remains, to this day, unequal in our phenomenal reality. It seems to grow, and in time to acquire transcendence seemingly, beyond human abilities.
One would have thought that such love would be designed out of necessity for the protection of helpless infants.
     Not so.
Having observed and experienced maternal behaviour for over 80 years, I concluded  that this trait is not only present in mothers towards juvenile offspring, but is built into the female psyche towards life itself. If no babies are available to manifest their divine trait, they direct their centripetal energy towards anyone or any animal that might be capable of receiving it.
     Centrifugal force sets us apart.
     Centripetal draws us together.
Women and apparently all females, excel in the latter.

The mystery unfolds still further when we realize that, on occasion, the first living creature on which a newborn casts his or her attention, appears to be treated like a surrogate parent. Hence, regardless of sex, a degree of synchronicity seems built into all of us. Yet only women seem to retain it.
None can compare to maternal love.

A mother's love seems to manifest itself in seeming countless personal ways. While men may provide expansion of things, territorial or otherwise, only a women can equal this trait in terms protecting the species.  It may be because, at least according to Carl Jung,

"the conscious attitude of a woman
is in general
far more exclusively personal than that of man."

Man often acts out of perceived duty, women out of inherent instinct. They often seem unable to stop loving even when the object of their affection is no longer around. Strangely, this trait can also be seen in "lower" animals, though in my eyes, many animals seem to exhibit higher moral standard than humans.

To commemorate what is known as Mother's Day, let me assure all mothers that all days would not be the same without them. It might be because men, more often than not, love for something. Women, as often, love in spite of things. Perhaps women just cannot stop loving. Love is their intrinsic nature.
They seem to echo of the Universal Centripetal Force.
The force that makes us all one.

" This novel deserves to be read by millions of people"
