With persistent obduracy almost 2.2 billion Christians and 1.7 billion Moslem insist on waiting to die, in order to go to Heaven. I find this both presumptuous and a very risky proposition. First of all, we have no idea if we shall be chosen to abide in such an heavenly realm. And secondly, the environs that we hope to visit might not be all they're reputed to be, particularly since, to my knowledge, nobody ever returned to our humble reality to tell us about it.
Yet, this didn't stop the various religious organizations from declaring that once we make it upstairs (note it's never "down there") we shall be stuck there for ever-after. And that, my friends, is a very, very, very long time.
Buddhist and Hindus believe in Karma and Reincarnation which extripates the necessity of a permanent Heaven or Hell.
The Jews hold onto a legend that beyond Paradise, there is the higher Gan Eden "where God is enthroned and explains the Torah to its inhabitants" (Wikipedia).
This is particularly interesting since Yeshûa, later known as Jesus, was very much a Jew, whom many consider the Messiah, or at least a great prophet (named Isa by the Moslem) had very different ideas. In fact, Jesus appeared to have had little interest in the afterlife. He stated, quite unequivocally, that "the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21) That's within you and me. I must assume that Heaven is the kingdom of God. No one ever denied it.
Within us, here and now?
While we are still alive.
I must admit that I don't think much of an idea of crawling inside my own corpse after I die. Yeshûa must have had something else in mind.
Enter the indestructible energy of Consciousness. You may think of yourself as your body with all of its appurtenances, but, it seems to me, that Jesus thought of Himself, and of us, as Individualized States of the Omnipresent, Indestructible, Creative Energy of Consciousness. We don't have to go anywhere when dead. But we can find life eternal here and now. If you value your immortality, then read on, tomorrow.

(CONTINUED TOMORROW)
In my book, below, I suggest how Yeshûa
might have achieved the essence of Being and Becoming. It could not
have been easy. After all, He felt compelled to give up his family, and
it took Him
some eighteen years to arrive at His conclusions. To learn the
difference between illusion and reality.
See what you can do?
