There is no real difference between Eternity and the Eternal Now. Those who differentiate between our Ego and Higher Self, recognize the passage of time. And rightly so, but only as long as they accept that the passage of time is illusory, that it only exists in the Phenomenal Universe. Namely, in the Universe, which we recognize as real, yet which is, as we know from science, illusory.
To my knowledge, there was only one man who affirmed, quite categorically, that "I and my Father are one". The man, as you know, was Yeshûa, later known as Jesus. In more modern language the expression would have been: "my Ego and my Higher Self are One". The first is transient, the second abides in the Eternal Now.
He, Yeshûa, became complete. Whole. The word from which the word "holy" originates.
No more duality.
No more split personality.
(Psychiatrists would have been pleased!).
Yeshûa had united His potential with His fulfillment, and thus no longer differentiated between the two. He achieved Singularity, the inherent ONENESS that defines our true reality. Forsaking His ego and merging with the Omnipresent Energy of Consciousness would have been His choice.
To put it yet in another way, He asserted that whatever form the Potential takes, It remains One. That the Creator and the created are inseparable. That the presence of the Higher Self, even if not as yet recognized by most of us, is an unavoidable essence of who we are.
Furthermore, He implied that, even if the process of Becoming is eternal, the Potential and the Manifestation are inseparable. Hence, even when some of us will eventually reunite with the Omnipresent Creative Energy of Consciousness to reengage, once again, in the process of becoming (phenomenal life) through individualization, we shall provide a new experiences of manifestation to the evolving Ego to draw on.
Thus, while the Potential is infinite, the process of becoming must, per force, likewise be infinite. For ever and ever. Ad infinitum.
You might as well enjoy it. It's the only game in town!
Enjoy your Eternity. It is here and now.

In my book, below, I suggest how Yeshûa might have achieved the essence of Being and Becoming. It could not have been easy. After all, He felt compelled to give up his family, and it took Him
some eighteen years to arrive at His conclusions. To learn the difference between illusion and reality.
See what you can do?
