Immortality does not appear to be quite as most religions seem to tell us. Although I haven't visited the Heavenly environs lately, I suffer from serious doubts that there are angels floating around on filigree wings, saintly figures bending low in front of an image of a ancient, benevolent God. Of course, since in the eternal universe there must, by now, be trillions of saints floating around, they have to do it from afar.
Religions changed Christ's statement that "Kingdom of God (Heaven) is within you", to a carrot and the stick perversion by adding Hell as the ultimate eternal painful punishment meted out to his beloved children by an "all loving God". Surely, no intelligent person can accept such nonsense. (I did before I grew up).
Hence, waiting to "go" to Heaven till you die, is foolhardy.
Why?
Because, according to Christ, whom I must take as authority in those matter, the sort of Heaven that religions promise us simply does not exist. Eternal rest, as in "requiescat in pace" for eternity, is for me the most boring concept of Heaven. In fact, it sounds like my idea of Hell.
I like action, challenges, creation, beauty and diversity...
"Eternal rest" destroys the joys of life. Destroys all hope of realization of dreams held throughout life on Earth.
***
What does exist are realities of
progressively higher frequencies of vibrations of energy, which, when
realized, give us more power over the environment, over the reality we
create. All this may sound like total nonsense to those who do not
accept the scientific dictum that "all is energy", and until they experience their first "lucid dream".
Then... the proverbial penny drops.
The doubters become believers.
Lucid
dreams are also subject to universal laws, thus denying us absolute
freedom, but once learned they are as heavenly environs as one can hope
for. And, for some reason, they become unforgettable.
What
changes substantially are our attitudes, our perceptions of reality,
our abilities to enjoy them. Yet, what really changes is our State of Consciousness.
The reality itself seems to be the same we've left behind, only richer
in our eyes. But our control over it swells exponentially. As the dreams
repeat, we keep discovering new abilities, new talents which we never
imagined we possessed.
Trust
me. If Heaven is anything like a lucid dream then you can choose to
rest in eternal boredom, while I'll continue to have eternal fun. Your
choice. We are gods. We create our realities, remember?
So, again, why the CURSE?
Well, it could be because
we are destined to abide, forever and ever, in the consequences of our
past. "Cause and effect" is an immutable law of phenomenal reality. We can only change the illusion once you learn to perform "miracles" (i.e. become gods). Until then, we'd
better listen to our Saviours. They seem to have known what they were
talking about. And Thomas was among the best of them.
