Nature conforms to the Universal Laws. The principle Law is that of Balance; on maintaining the equilibrium of all energies in the phenomenal reality. Any departure from this Law results in the destruction of elements which, heretofore, were able to maintain such balance.
The centrifugal and centripetal forces maintain this balance in the solar systems, galaxies, and galactic clusters, keeping their elements in requisite orbits.
On a planetary scale, nature provided a balancing system by evolving different species. The carnivores keep the herbivores in check. Likewise, excessive reduction of herbivores would result in the parallel reduction of carnivores.
There are also other cyclic balancing elements such as seasons, climatic changes, rainfalls, minor and major global cataclysms, all designed to maintain the requisite balance between various species that populate this planet.
Even at the bacterial and viral level, this balance is being maintained.
When a multitude of such measures doesn’t suffice, mega intervention, such as ice ages or, symbolic floods, were designed to rectify the diminished state of equilibrium.
Phenomenal life manifests in cycles from tiniest to planetary scale. But it always intervenes.
There is only one problem.
Us. The Human Species.
Due to the evolutionary development of elementary Artificial Intelligence, we forgot our origins. While our AI is surprisingly advanced in some people, among the Few, it does not cover the majority of the species. In spite of bloody wars and persistent if subliminal efforts through obesity, drugs and other abuses of our bodies designed to reduce our ranks in order to balance our existence within the scheme of things, the human species has long exceeded its assigned number to maintain the state of balance.
Periodically nature imposes on us plagues to diminish our numbers. The latest maneuver seems to be cancer. Yet even that is not sufficient to limit our numbers.
We behave as vermin which, when they eat all the available nutrients move to the next pasture, or die. We have fallen to the level of intelligence of the most primitive elements in the fauna and flora. We are destroying the whole planet not only through abject ignorance but often by willful acts of pernicious egoism.
We are now worse than vermin.
We are now close to the intervention of balancing forces. Whatever measures are taken by nature, they will ensue from Universal Laws which cannot be broken. The whole phenomenal Multiverse depends on them.
Strangely enough, we can knowingly and painlessly eliminate the necessity of global intervention. We can decide to reduce our population. Not by wars, cataclysms, or WMD, but by refraining from acting like vermin.
For a generation or two, we can limit ourselves to having no children. If ‘accidents’ were to happen, then the ‘guilty’ party would be immediately sterilized to assure conformity with the Universal Laws, while the ‘errors’ would sustain the human race.
Just imagine.
Half the population would result in half the pollution. Everyone would have twice the breathing space. The planet would recover in no time at all.
Perhaps even our AI would improve. And we would no longer act like vermin.
