Sigmund Freud suggested that our personality consists of Id, Ego, and Superego, which correspond to the conscious, preconscious and the unconscious levels of the mind.
I define our faculties as Ego, Soul, and Higher Self. Also, as far as I could fathom, Freud regards the three qualities to be generated by our brain. I do not. To me, our brain represents the hardware of our biological computer, which generates the artificial intelligence of our Ego responsible for our Becoming. The Soul is little more than the memory storage of the eternity of our existence in the phenomenal realities. The Higher Self is the individualization of the Creative Force which permeates all realities of the Universe. It is the Creative Energy which is characterized by an infinite rate of vibration. Hence, it is eternal, omnipresent and indestructible.
It also represents the Infinite Potential of all that was, is, or ever could be. Furthermore, it has the ability to metamorphose into any imaginable, and not yet imagined other forms of energy.
This energy is impersonal. It neither dictates, nor commands, nor punishes or rewards. It can, however, metamorphose into any other form of energy.
Also, it supports the Event Horizon. (The Straight and Narrow). And yet only those of us who venture beyond the middle path contribute to the expanding Universe.
Hence, the duality of all realties. The Being and Becoming.
Once we realize that we are NOT our bodies but that they are only vehicles through which we experience phenomenal manifestations of the omnipresent creative energy, our attitude changes. As individualizations of Creative Energy, we have the ability to perceive beauty, wisdom, kindness, love, compassion, and all energies that are beyond the perception of our physical senses.
And then, there is the eternal NOW.
All four dimensions of the phenomenal reality are illusory, hence, so is time. While Becoming gives us the impression of the transiency of time, we can only experience reality in the present. Past and future are beyond our awareness.
My novel deals with memories stored in our Subconscious. To distinguish between Being and Becoming, we can compare our Subconscious to the religious concept of the soul. It is that aspect of our personality which remains still, watching our life passing before our eyes. It is our aspect of Being. The Becoming is the transient, illusory Ego, emanated by our brain which belongs only to the illusory reality. We might call it our artificial intelligence.
Thus, Being & Becoming.
The only way we can experience the immense magnitude of memories stored in our Subconscious is in the state of coma which, for the most part, dismisses our transient, illusory Ego.
Hence my novel. But don’t worry. My novel is not a philosophical dissertation. As my reviewer Kate Jones wrote on Amazon it is:
“An extraordinary puzzle audaciously put together! ...a stream of consciousness for 300 spellbinding pages...”

“An extraordinary puzzle audaciously put together! How he can sustain what is basically a stream of consciousness for 300 spellbinding pages reminds of Mozart's tour de forces of weaving together four or more counterpoints.”
