There is no absolute good or evil. There is only a state of equilibrium, maintained by centrifugal and centripetal forces. From this state of balance, we venture into the “unknown”, in order to diversify, hence enrich, the phenomenal Universe. This is known as evolution.
From our exploratory ventures, we return to the Straight and Narrow, the Event Horizon, to try later again. The Event Horizon is the only Universe perceptible to our senses. All else is unknown and unpredictable, hence, creative.
All this activity within the three-dimensional Universe concerns only the phenomenal reality. The omnipresent state of Being remains ever static in the Eternal Now. It is the reality of the Potential.
A Few ancient mystics knew this.
Today we refer to it as the Quantum Field.
To achieve the new, to reach beyond the known, the established, the safe, we need power. Alas, as we all know, power corrupts by aggrandizing the wielder and not the recipient of the process.
A Hobson’s choice?
Hence the Law of Karma. It restores the balance. Doing the right thing beyond the visible or predictable horizon is no easy matter. Indeed, there is only one way to avoid the scourge of corruption, and that is to be guided by the Self and not the Ego.
There is a fundamental difference.
Ego is limited to a single person, while Self is inseparable from the Whole. If you enrich the phenomenal reality in a manner in which most might benefit, the danger of falling under the beguiling pull of corruption is minimized.
I strongly suspect that those who have learned to wield power guided only by the commands of their Self, by the Consciousness of their incorruptible Being, were regarded by the rest of us as gods.
Perhaps the Olympus was like that.
Hence OLYMPUS — of Gods and Men. The capital G belongs only in the title. When applied to men, we tend to subjugate Being to Becoming. Hence, there must be a periodic cleansing process.
In my novel, even as all hell breaks loose due to Pluto Effect our heroes escape to Milos. Only there they have a chance to survive apocalyptic global upheavals, caused by the reversal of polarity of magnetic poles.
Governments and social structures collapse. A few men and women, advanced beings, gather in secret sanctuaries to protect the remnants of human heritage.
Eventually, Ambrosia and Simon awaken to the magnificent powers lying dormant within them. This could be… you!
